Wednesday 8th October - walks **** – Sunrise prom and Landguard – mainly cloudy with some drizzle.

Walk 1 – short sunrise prom.

After a couple of mornings of sunrise walks I was going to give this morning a miss but I checked out of the window and spotted the full moon so decided to walk down to the seafront with Mag just before 7 taking a few moon pics and was lucky enough to get one on BBC,s Look East:) On the prom Mag turned left while I turned right and sat on the beach just past the pier and was treated to another nice sunrise and I got a few OK photos. It was a pleasant half an hour out before heading for home as it clouded over with some light drizzle!

Walk 2 Landguard circuit including a picnic by the Orwell:)

Not deterred by the drizzle I packed a picnic and we drove down to The Manor for a walk around the nature reserve and we treated to some colour as there was loads of yellow flowers, Mag checked a plant app on her phone and discovered they were Ragwort :) Not much wildlife today just the odd rabbit and a robin but despite the gloomy cloud the winds were very light and we made it to the little wooden pier as the yellow Harwich foot ferry headed off! We continued along the sea wall spotting a dog fish that keep swimming up the beach and then rolling back into the sea, it sadly did look in distress but we left it swimming away so fingers crossed it was OK. We sat on the old pier at the entrance to the Orwell to enjoy our lunch, the sun did make an appearance and it certainly lifted the day, warm too! The lifeboat and pilot boats headed out and the DFDS ferry came past. Well rested we walked back along the best beach inn Felixstowe with the sea so flat, just lovely! Then home for a cuppa and cake, another top day beside the sea:)
